You know, I actually like the Reasoning Book. It's a good quick reference book, even if you don't agree with some of the doctrines.

Welcome to the forum, and I love the observations you have on the WT/JWs as far as how little they've contributed to society if any. They're a bunch of troublemakers, homewreckers, and leeches criticizing everyone and every organization and institution all the while benefitting as much as they possibly can from other's self sacrifice and contributions.

I didn't realize this was a boy. I was thinking to myself, they're letting her wear pants to the meeting? I guess the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree.

The Bible is full of violence. Why are JW's told to avoid anything related to it then?
by XPeterX inin exodus jehovah killed the egyptians.ahud stabbed eglon in his abdomen, people in a city (don't remember which one) would eat their own children,jw's back then sacrificed their babies to moloch and the list goes on.so why jw's have to avoid books, music, movies which contain violence?

The picture in this article is hilarious. Why do all the pictures of people at home in family settings, are people dressed like dang near business casual? Who watches television with tucked in polo shirts and neatly pressed khakis? I remember living at home, and a visitor would show up unexpected, the first thing me or my brother and sister did if we answered the door, was run back to where our folks were at so they could be presentable. Presentable as in my dad needing to put some pants on as he lounged about occasionally in his underwear, and mom would have on a conservative night gown or really long tee shirt. I don't ever recall watching a movie with my family when all of us were home and we were dressed like we were going to work at the book store later on.

Miz, I don't know how you do it man. The last public talk I gave made me ill. I had a kind of out of body experience during the talk, I looked down at my self on the platform giving a talk on something that i knew was false...... I just couldn't do it anymore. I figured life is too short to try to convince people of something that I did not believe. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be critical of you. You just have a lot more internal strength than I had.
Best wishes
SIAM
Thanks for the wishes SIAM, and all the encouraging words you've given me in times past. The only thing about doing talks nowadays that bugs me is the travelling portion of it. If the travelling were limited to the city and the occasional suburb outside of the city, it wouldn't bother me a bit. I just hate travelling to Timbuktu in the middle of nowhere. One talk I travelled over two hours to find this congregation, and this is after the shortening of the outlines. Two hours travelling dang near to another state, to deliver a half hour outline. Its ludicrous. On one hand I can see some value in it, because some KHs are so removed from other KHs, that the congregation would be stuck hearing the same brothers over and over again if not for guest speakers.
Another thing is with the outlines being limited to 30 minutes now, I can deliver talks that are neutral when it comes to doctrines I no longer believe in. Granted, I'm compromising my own personal beliefs by even remaining in this religion, but some battles in life are necessary to me, and this is one of them. Being able to cut a talk down from 45 minutes to 30, makes it easier to swallow my pride. One positive to it though is meeting JWs from other congregations far outside of the city. I do feel a genuine warmth when I enter a KH's doors for the first time. It's like running into distant relatives. It feels good shaking hands with people before doing the talk, and meeting new folks for the first and last time. I usually leave during the song break prior to the WT Study as I hate people coming up to me later telling me how good I am or similar. Very uncomfortable with that, its embarrasing and I don't do well in those social settings where attention is placed upon me.

Its interesting to me that the elder body is pursuing this. If I'm not mistaken, all they have to do is flat out ask you whether you're attending a church now, two brothers can be sent to ask you the question. At that point, they don't even have to do a judical committee, and they can chalk it up as you disassociating yourself by your actions.

Just wanted to say this thread is hilarious to me. I just found out that I have a talk away this Saturday, which is nice as I can sleep in on Sunday. My midweek meeting isn't until Thursday, but I wanted a copy of the outline now as I want to at least get reaquanted with it. I usually toss an outline after I complete a talk, its kind of like closure for me. Its just hilarious to me that I can go on an apostate message board and get the outline. Saves me a trip to the Kingdom Hall, saves on gas money.....friggin beautiful. I love apostacy!!!!!!

Why do some women think the bottle blonde and bottle tan look is good?

I've never been a fan of that myself. Too phony for one thing, plus anytime I've ever been attracted to a white chick, its almost always brunettes, or the occasional red-head. Rarely does a blonde do anything for me, they're just not my type of hype, or cup of tea. There's a blonde woman in another department up here, and she's occasionally orange. She's just like the one you described in that she'd be more attractive if not for being orange.
